That’s a Ford Falcon not a Jensen Interceptor, gosh.

Man Mad Max 1 just feels so tame compared to the batshit insanity that Fury Road is.

I opted not to show him the first Mad Max film. It isn’t just too messed up. Love the cars though.
I was reading the trivia on IMDB. They said Hummingus was supposed to be Max’ partner Goose from th first movie. Kind of a shock.

It’s kinda surprising how quickly everything seemed to fall apart in Australia. Like, they were just getting ice cream on a family vacation in the 1st film to carving skulls in the side of hollowed out mesas in F ury R oad

Have you ever seen the original Mad Max? Not Road Warrior, but Mad Max? It was pretty batshit.

I own all four on Blu Ray, they’re mandatory annual programming in my house. The constant 100% high octane action of Fury Road makes the slower scenes of Mad Max seem tame in comparison.

In that case, yes there are quieter moments in Road Warrior, but the psychological toll on Max is much higher in the original.
No offense intended on asking the question about the original. A surprising number of people haven’t seen it.

It was on TCM yesterday. I had to watch for a while even though I have it on disk. The sounds bouncing off the buildings of New York are magnificent. As is the dialogue-less section in the mountains with the Cobra and Daytona going wheel to wheel.

My one criticism of Fury Road is that Max didn’t find some way to steal his car back i n the final sequence--I was all excited when he sees the Interceptor alongside the war rig, says "Hey, that's mine!" and then DOESN'T TAKE THE CAR.
